In actual field case, research about ground water flow is difficult to carry aout, for this reason ground water head and characteristics is studied through ground water hydraulic model at laboratory. The research conducted was about ground water hydraulic modeling at Laboratory by using Ground Water Flow Apparatus. Two Sand samples were used . The hydraulic head was measured and compared with calculated one. The result showed that average absolute error was 0.0014 for model I, 0.003 for model II, 0,005 for model III on 1st soil sample and 0,0010 for model I, 0,0008 for model II and 0,0003 for modekl III. The hydraulic conductivity was tested by using Constant Head Permeameter resulted in hydraulic conductivity 0,0052 cm/second for sample 1, 0,001723 m/second and 0,001723 cm/second for sample 2

This study will analyze how the Strategy Department of Labor in Addresing Unemployment Problem in Pekanbaru City. Given the number of unemployment both from within and from outside the area to find a job in Pekanbaru city government attempted to addressing the unemplotment problem by holding exhibitions labor market in order to facilitate job seekers find work. The steps of The Department of Labor in Addressing Unemployment Problem in Pekanbaru City be very important in providing counseling or disseminination to the public or unemployed to fill job vacancies that exist both within region and outside the region. Then, the Department of Labor Pekanbaru also perform or implement workforce training in accordance with labor market demand according to the expertise or skills possessed by job seekers. The purpose of this is to determine the strategy of the Department of Labor in Addressing Unemployment Problem in Pekanbaru City and to determine the factors that influence the strategy of the Department of Labor in Addressing Unemployment Problem in Pekanbaru City. To analyze this problem the authors use the theory Tripomo which strategy is the frame or plame that integrate goals, policy and action/program organization. This research was conducted in the Department of Labor Pekanbaru city, using qualitative research methods using snowball sampling methods in the analysis of research with key informants (key informants). In collecting the data, the researcher used interview techniques, observation and documentation studies. By using key informants and informant as a supplementary source of information in addressing unemployment problem in Pekanbaru city not run well in carrying out measures to addressing unemployment. The factors that influence among others factors of infrastructure, human resources and communications. Keywords: Strategy, unemploymen

Evaluation of Partially Averaged Navier-Stokes Method in Simulating Flow Past a Sphere

In recent past partially averaged Navier-Stokes equation (PANS) has been proposed as a scale-resolving bridging method for turbulence computations. Despite the geometric simplicity of the involved boundary conditions, the flow past a sphere is ripe with various complex flow phenomena, which make it an excellent test bed to evaluate various computational fluid dynamics modelling methodologies − both in terms of numerical schemes as well as turbulence models. Specifically, in this work we evaluate PANS in conjugation with the standard k-ε model in terms of (i) influence of filter parameters, (ii) sensitivity to free stream viscosity ratio and (iii) choice of numerical schemes at supercritical Reynolds number of 1.14x106. Careful evaluations are made by comparing PANS results against available experimental data as well available detached eddy simulation (DES) and large eddy simulation (LES) results. Our study finds that indeed − as purported by the PANS theory − a reduction in the value of the first filter parameter (fk) successfully captures the complex vortical structures that exist past a sphere, shows far superior performance than unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) simulations and somewhat improved performance even over some of the LES studies reported in literature. Our study shows that in terms of most of the quantities of interest, PANS performance is almost at par with that of DES

Sex differences in metabolic and adipose tissue responses to juvenile-onset obesity in sheep

Sex is a major factor determining adipose tissue distribution and the subsequent adverse effects of obesity-related disease including type 2 diabetes. The role of gender on juvenile obesity and the accompanying metabolic and inflammatory responses is not well established. Using an ovine model of juvenile onset obesity induced by reduced physical activity, we examined the effect of gender on metabolic, circulatory, and related inflammatory and energy-sensing profiles of the major adipose tissue depots. Despite a similar increase in fat mass with obesity between genders, males demonstrated a higher storage capacity of lipids within perirenal-abdominal adipocytes and exhibited raised insulin. In contrast, obese females became hypercortisolemic, a response that was positively correlated with central fat mass. Analysis of gene expression in perirenal-abdominal adipose tissue demonstrated the stimulation of inflammatory markers in males, but not females, with obesity. Obese females displayed increased expression of genes involved in the glucocorticoid axis and energy sensing in perirenal-abdominal, but not omental, adipose tissue, indicating a depot-specific mechanism that may be protective from the adverse effects of metabolic dysfunction and inflammation. In conclusion, young males are at a greater risk than females to the onset of comorbidities associated with juvenile-onset obesity. These sex-specific differences in cortisol and adipose tissue could explain the earlier onset of the metabolic-related diseases in males compared with females after obesity

On the role of different Skyrme forces and surface corrections in exotic cluster-decay

We present cluster decay studies of 56^{56}Ni∗^* formed in heavy-ion collisions using different Skyrme forces. Our study reveals that different Skyrme forces do not alter the transfer structure of fractional yields significantly. The cluster decay half-lives of different clusters lies within \pm 10% for PCM and \pm 15% for UFM.Comment: 13 pages,6 figures and 1 table; in press Pramana Journal of Physics (2010

    Post-irradiation cutaneous angiosarcoma

    Get PDF
Angiosarcoma is a rare and highly malignant tumor with potential to recur despite treatment, and carries a poor prognosis. Previous radiation therapy and lymphedema are some of the known risk factors. We present a case of cutaneous angiosarcoma which occurred at lumpectomy site in a patient with a history of breast cancer and radiation to the breast. The tumor kept on recurring repetitively despite continual treatments, and the patient finally succumbed to the disease roughly four years after initial diagnosis

Fission and cluster decay of 76^{76}Sr nucleus in the ground-state and formed in heavy-ion reactions

    Get PDF
Calculations for fission and cluster decay of 76Sr^{76}Sr are presented for this nucleus to be in its ground-state or formed as an excited compound system in heavy-ion reactions. The predicted mass distribution, for the dynamical collective mass transfer process assumed for fission of 76Sr^{76}Sr, is clearly asymmetric, favouring α\alpha -nuclei. Cluster decay is studied within a preformed cluster model, both for ground-state to ground-state decays and from excited compound system to the ground-state(s) or excited states(s) of the fragments.Comment: 14 pages LaTeX, 5 Figures available upon request Submitted to Phys.
